With all of us staying indoors due to the pandemic, it gives us a lot of extra time on hand to take care of our skin & try out some DIY skin care .

So for you guys to have lovely skin care day we have listed a few DIY scrub & masks below, that you can make using the ingredients from your kitchen.

Coffee Scrub:

This scrub requires just need 2 ingredients:-

1. coffee powder

2. coconut oil.

Coffee is full of antioxidants making it a perfect choice to treat sun damage . The caffeine in it also helps in increasing the blood flow helping in cell turnover & brightening the skin. Coconut oil is a super food which helps to smooth our skin.

The procedure

1. clean skin with any cleanser you have or wash it with a face wash

2. Take 1 teaspoon a spoon of each

3. Mix it well and make it into a paste.

4. Apply this scrub in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes.

5. Wash it off.

And in no time you will have a wonderful skin!


Brightening Mask:

The ingredients needed for this mask :-

1. Chickpea flour- 1 tablespoon

2. Tomato juice - 1 tablespoon

3. Honey - 1 teaspoon

Chickpea flour is rich in protein and unsaturated fatty acids. It also contains riboflavins & vitamins which nourish our skin.

Tomatoes contain vitamin C, this will soothe and brighten the skin

The procedure :-

1. Mix it all together in a bowl

2. And evenly apply it all over your face.

3. Oily to normal skin- leave this mask for 15-20 minutes.

4. Dry skin- leave it on for 7-10 minutes.

5. Wash it off with cold water.

6. Apply it once a week for best results.

Enjoy your mask!


Hydrating Mask:

The ingredients needed for this mask :-

1. Oats Powder - 1 tablespoons

2. Milk - 1-2 tablespoon

3. Honey - 1 teaspoon

4. Turmeric powder - a small pinch

Oats contain cleaning properties. They eliminate dirt & oil that clog our pores. They also contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Milk helps to soothe, brighten and hydrate our skin. Honey contains antioxidants & helps to give you a clearer complexion.

Turmeric contains anti-inflammatory properties. It also protects our skin against sun damage

The procedure :-

1. Take all the ingredients listed above and mix it well

2. Mix it till all the ingredients forms a paste

3. Apply it evenly all over your face

4. Leave it and let it set for 20 minutes

5. Wash it off.

Voila!! now you have a super hydrated skin.


Now lets remember a few rules that will help you with complete skin care.

The foremost rule while wanting to maintain glowing skin & healthy hair is to eat clean & healthy. So ideally maintaining the health of your skin starts literally from the inside out. Maintaining a healthy diet including a lot of green & colorful vegetables and fruits nourish your skin & body required vitamins, minerals & antioxidants. Eating healthy fats also help to keep your skin glowing. Also, keeping yourself hydrated is a must. So it's good to make a rule to atleast consume 8 to 10 glasses of water everyday.
